In a world of BIG data, the process of assessing the security risk of a particular key business asset, be it for example cabling infrastructure of national critical importance or a high value construction project, can be very difficult in the absence of accurate information, resulting in vast amounts of money being wasted on security products and services that are wholly disproportionate to the risk.

The new SmartWater® Intelligence Portal can help companies and organisations with the assessment of risk. In partnership with the police and a number of national organisations, we have developed a unique web-based knowledge-sharing risk mitigation platform which offers Clients and police the opportunity to both access and share information.

Computer monitor screens with maps on them

The portal allows for greater joint insight to identify crime patterns, hotspots and “cross border” criminal activity. This assists predictive crime analysis in order to react and prepare accordingly, such as target hardening, and so protecting business assets and infrastructure. Put simply – you get access to a rich picture of crime in and around your estate or police force area.

The portal, alongside SmartWater’s trained Intelligence Analysts, has proven to be a vital service for Clients who do not have in-house Risk and Resilience Specialists or Crime Analysts or seek to outsource. This works in conjunction with police forces who want to share knowledge to drive down crime and reassure communities. SmartWater Analysts have all been trained to the UK National Occupational Standards for Intelligence Analysis.

The portal provides a mapping function which includes the risk-rating of potential outlets for stolen goods, including Scrap Metal Dealers and Second Hand Dealers across the UK.

The range of service that SmartWater analysts offer includes:
