SmartWater wins major contract in USA16/11/2016
One of the USA’s most prestigious law enforcement agencies, Prince George County Police Department, Maryland has announced a major new community policing operation across the whole of the County, partnering with our Florida based company, SmartWater CSI.
Over the next twelve months, selected home owners across the County will be provided with a SmartWater CSI asset protection system, with each kit containing a uniquely coded bottle of forensically traceable solution, which is brushed on to the homeowner’s possessions.
Once applied the clear solution is almost impossible to remove and is only detectable under UV black light. This technique allows officers to identify stolen goods once checked under the light. The unique code within the solution provides an irrefutable forensic link back to the owner of the stolen goods.
Thousands of homes in the County are to be protected with many more planned over coming months.
Phil Cleary, Chief Executive of SmartWater, said: “This new initiative represents a revolutionary approach to community policing, as it not only improves the security of the home owner but also provides the police with the technology to go on the offensive way against local criminals whose activities brings misery to neighborhoods’.
