Crime fighters have been handing out advice and security measures in a bid to combat rising burglaries over the summer.
Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership officers visited properties on Victoria Street, St Helen’s Street, Spencer Street, Queen Street and Cobden Road offering SmartWater - an invisible coded substance for marking items.
The move follows a slight increase in the number of domestic burglaries with thieves taking advantage of open doors and windows in the warmer weather.
Safer neighborhoods officer Marsha Mann said there were more SmartWater kits to give out and they would continue to identify areas that might benefit from such protection.
